About Giggles
A giggle started one day when I was on a mission to find the perfect gift for a friend who, let’s be honest, already has everything. You know the type. I’m a bit of a funny person, so I started thinking: what’s a gift that keeps on giving, long after the gift wrap is torn to shreds?
The answer was simple, and also ridiculous: adopt a person. Not in the “actual paperwork” sense, but in the “fictitious thank you letter” sense.
I “adopted” a person in my friend’s name, with the only catch being he gets a monthly, wonderfully absurd thank-you letter from his new, imaginary pen pal. They’re always hilariously grateful for the “support” he’s provided, from a single, well-placed dollar for a cup of coffee to the “generous donation” that bought a slightly used car. It’s a gift that’s totally ridiculous, a little bit silly, and surprisingly heartwarming.
